PAST AND PRESENT PROFESSIONAL ASSIGNMENTS

Malteser International Americas – I am presently the human resources/office manager for the New York headquarters of the international nonprofit humanitarian and disaster relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta.

Mil Gustos Hospitality Group – I worked as a human resources/operations administrator for a hospitality group that owns and operates three restaurants in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and one in South Orange, New Jersey.

Bogota Latin Bistro & Mojito Bar – I was a communication consultant for Brooklyn’s best Colombian/Pan-Latin restaurant in Park Slope.

LaGuardia Community College – I was a contract marketing communications manager for this urban community college in the borough of Queens, one of the most diverse communities in New York City and the world.

Miti Miti – This NYC location in Park Slope is the second business venture from the owners that brought you Bogota Latin Bistro. I helped promote the bar/restaurant and launched the company’s first website.

ModernDowntownDwellings.com – I helped create this blog about “taking the small space to the infinite dimension.” If you are looking for ways to make the most out of small spaces be sure to visit ModernDowntownDwellings.com.

VOLUNTEER ASSIGNMENTS

SUNY New Paltz – I am a member of the SUNY New Paltz Alumni Council which represents over 72,000 members of the official SUNY New Paltz Alumni Association.

Delphic of Gamma Sigma Tau Fraternity – I am the executive board president and historian of the multicultural organization, managing the written content of its website and Wikipedia page and widely publicizing the fraternity online. If you know an undergraduate student that might be interested in forming a multicultural fraternity on his campus, please pass along the DGST link.

PERSONAL ASSIGNMENTS

Velez’s View – This is my personal blog with general thoughts and experiences about life with a focus on Latino/Puerto Rico culture and social media.

Fraternity Communication – I also run a fraternity blog that promotes positive images of fraternities and sororities.

Delphic Fraternity History Homepage – As the historian of the fraternity, I created this site to highlight several years of personal research on the origins and historical development of The Delphic Fraternity, Inc. (d/b/a Delphic of Gamma Sigma Tau Fraternity.)

Portu Ricans – I created a website that highlights Puerto Ricans with Portuguese ancestry.

Puerto RiKin – I was recently bitten by the genealogy bug and decided to create a blog about my Puerto Rican kin.
